Good Luck Yogi

Good Luck Yogi (GLY), a first of its kind meditation app for children and parents, will officially launch on app stores this year. GLY is on a mission to support children’s emotional regulation through the lifelong skill of meditation, and give parents tools to raise generations of mindful children. The brand was founded by JC Das, a former music producer and full-time monk of six years, and Anchal Chand, a former behavioral therapist and mother of three. Since coming to life, GLY has led hundreds of Pre-K to 8th-grade students in guided breathing exercises in Los Angeles and across the United States.

As an interactive app that gamifies and incentivizes kids to want to meditate, GLY aims to make meditation fun, digestible, entertaining, and ultimately impactful and unique to each child. With the app, children can explore new meditations, earn special badges, and work towards new adventures. Whether it be breathing exercises, calming bedtime routines, or educational clips about dealing with big feelings, the app offers various avenues for parents and children to nurture a healthy mindset and regulatory toolkit for everyday challenges. With age-appropriate meditations voiced and recorded by kids, such as “breathing before a big test” or “power of the lion,” GLY aims to empower children of all ages. Incorporating colorful landscapes, characters, stories, calming music and nature sounds, child narration, and an animated superhero yogi, the avenues of interactive and engaging meditation are both plentiful and effective.

Companies and organizations have taken an interest in GLY, particularly Avant Garden, an independent record label with a wellness branch called Peace of Mind Studios, and James Cameron’s MUSE Global School, an early childhood through 12th grade private school with an emphasis on sustainability, wholesome, and interactive learning. This summer, Avant Garden exclusively released some of GLY’s meditation tracks on streaming platforms including Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, etc. Coinciding with the app's launch, Good Luck Yogi will be releasing their podcast series, “The Good Luck Yogi Podcast,” where JC Das sits down and interviews children on important topics like anxiety, bullying, friendships, conflict resolution, and more.
